Ro Ø23/15 Wall Closed ThrowRO lamp draws inspiration from the old craft maker traditions in the 1920s and 1930s where a simple lamp shade was made of ne and yarn usually tied around a wooden stand. The RO lamp shade is made of jute yarn tied around a simple base in line with the old traditions in Denmark. The lamp name RO in Danish refers to the calmness and simple human feeling of well being.

Though knitting is an old craft

and this was the fundamental aspiration for Made by Hand

Most of the LED light is effectively directed downwards

With inspiration drawn from classic pinstripe suits and American color field paintings from the 60’s

making each lamp distinctive and decorative

but the form embraces soft waves and movements that are not usually referenced in glass lamps

The Knit-Wit family comes in wide colour palette and a range of sizes

While most pendants are made of glass or metal

The lamps in the collection are created from the same starting point
